As for sucking, well, I don't think Blogger was ever meant for building communities, which is why those features don't exist.

If you want to respond to a specific post, put it in [b] or [i] ( sub in <> for [])
Also, it is a lot easier to read if instead of clicking "5 comments" you click the timestamp on the main page.
